Your Treating Therapist...

Dr. Danielle F. Gabel, PT, DPT, CFMT decided to be a physical therapist when she was 14 years old. After tearing her ACL playing competitive soccer, she spent a year rehabilitating her knee.  This marked the beginning of her life-long study of body mechanics and movement. Dani went on to play for the Wisconsin Olympic Development Team, the FC Milwaukee Club soccer as an All State player, and Division One soccer at the University of Evansville on a full athletic scholarship. Since then, she has had five knee surgeries and two wrist surgeries.

Dani attended the University of Evansville in Indiana and was graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Sport Psychology. She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2012 from Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Since graduation from PT school, Dani has trained with the Gray Institute and earned her Certification in Applied Functional Science (CAFS). Since 2013, she has been training with the Institute of Physical Art (IPA) practicing Functional Manual Therapytm She became Certified in Functional Manual Therapy (CFMT) August 2017. According to Dani, "The IPA has changed my life both personally and professionally. I am a functional therapist, which is the premise of the IPA. This ongoing education has led me to look at the body as a kinetic chain and strive for efficiency of movement by addressing mechanical dysfunctions/imbalances, addressing motor control, strength, and endurance of muscles. I work to get to the root cause and underlying driver of a patient’s symptoms and inefficient movements and to fix them.”  Whether you have a pain complaint, a lack of movement, inability to perform your favorite activity, or you just want to be more efficient than you already are, come experience Functional Manual Therapy.

Outside of the clinic Dani and her husband spend as much time as possible outdoors biking, skiing, hiking, fishing, camping and being with friends and family.
